The Duties of the Board Chair
- Convening, attending, presiding, or arranging for other
members of the Board to preside, over regularly scheduled
Board of Directors meetings
- Providing leadership for a system of checks and balances that monitor and assess all work done in committee and/or council
- Utilizing Roberts Rules of Order, or its equivalent as a guide
for conducting regularly scheduled Board of Directors meetings
- Providing leadership for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee’s creation of administrative policies and procedures
- Providing leadership for increasing community and individual participation in Melvin Henry Center’s Mission
- Submitting the Board of Directors Annual Self Assessment to the Governance Council
- Provide a capacity to contribute to Melvin Henry Center’s identification, acquisition, and procurement of resources and training necessary to sustain Melvin Henry Center’s Mission
